A man came to give me a bid for a fence around our ministry property. He took measurements. Walked the land. Talked business.
Before he left, he asked:
“Why do you want a fence?”
I answered, “We do things overseas.”
He asked, “Is this a ministry?”
I said, “Yes, sir.”
He said, “I used to be in ministry — crusades in South America. We saw people healed, saved and set free.”
Then he looked at me with fire in his eyes and asked:
“Sir, do you want all the gifts God has in store for you?”
I paused.
Because I knew saying “yes” to God always comes with more responsibility.
I prayed:
“Lord, do You want me to have more — or more of what I already have?”
And in my spirit, I sensed the answer: Yes.
So I told the man, “Yes.”
I called my wife out to the deck.
We stood in a circle, me, my wife and this stranger, hands joined in prayer.
Then he punched me in the stomach.
He didn’t stop praying.
He hit me again.
And then, a third time.
My wife stared at me like, “Why haven’t you thrown this guy off the deck?”
But I didn’t. Because I knew he was sincere.
Was it of God? I couldn’t say.
But the man had no fear — only faith.
He prayed. He hit. He finished.
Then he walked off like nothing happened.
I asked him, “What about my fence quote?”
He turned, smiled, and said:
“Sir, I do not believe I was here for the fence.”
And just like that—he was gone.
Never saw him again.
