The Four A’s
These are the Four A’s I use:
Awareness – What is actually happening?
Strip emotion. Strip ego. Just facts.
What do you see? What do you know? What are you assuming?
Assessment – What does it mean?
What are the risks? What are the second- and third-order consequences?
Who is affected? What’s the cost if you move — and the cost if you don’t?
Avoidance – Does this even deserve your energy?
Not every fight is yours. Not every insult needs a response.
Not every opportunity is wise.
Avoidance is not cowardice — it’s discipline.
Strategic men conserve strength for the battles that matter.
Action – Once you’ve determined it’s worth engaging, move decisively. No half steps. No emotional flailing. Execute with clarity and control.
Most men skip Awareness.
Many skip Assessment.
Almost none practice disciplined Avoidance.
And then they wonder why their Action creates chaos.
Run every major decision through the Four A’s.
Scripture focus: “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” — Proverbs 22:3
Action:
This week, identify one situation you should avoid — and one you must act on. Do both intentionally.
Warrior’s Reminder:
Strength isn’t reacting to everything.
Strength is knowing what deserves your force.
— Victor
