A true mentor doesn’t just shape you while alive. He still challenges you after he’s gone.

When Dr. James Dobson passed at 89, he left behind a legacy that will echo for generations.

He founded Focus on the Family, then faithfully carried on with Family Talk and the James Dobson Institute. He finished his race well.

Paul said of himself: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7). A mentor shows us that it can be done.

Losing a mentor hurts, but it forces us to rise. We can no longer lean on them; instead, we must carry their torch.

Warrior’s Reminder

Honor your mentors by living what they taught and finishing the race.

Scripture Focus

“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.”
Hebrews 13:7
